Scientific Literature Lit Summary

Write a draft of a literature summary for a paper that I am attaching. You need to start these summaries out by giving background information to the reader. It’s very possible that most of your classmates (and that is your audience) will not know what ALS is. Notice how, in the original paper, both the abstract and the introduction gradually ease into the topic and explain background information on the disease, the mechanism, and what they plan to do. You need to do the same in these summaries. Don’t laud the authors or the paper; simply explain and summarize their findings and paraphrase in simpler terms. A summary is about explaining the basics of the findings and providing some numerical data in a summary to a reader who will never get to see this paper. Please include an APA reference of the paper at the end.
