The basic requirements are three pages for your personal statement and two pages for your research statement. As discussed, you may adapt what you do for a graduate school application, the PUF grant, or any other grant you choose. You may also apply for an internship or a job. There are two student examples in files under “sample grants.”
For the purposes of the assignment, I will need five pages single-spaced. I also want you to submit an introduction that explains your choices. For example, if you decide to make the research statement longer than the personal statement because that’s what the grant/school you’re applying to requires, just let me know. Additionally, if you submit something that combines the two for the purposes of an internship, just let me know. Finally, even if the school/position requires more than or fewer than five pages, I need five pages for the assignment. Just let know how you adapted. Include a link to the grant/app requirements, too.
The introduction will not count toward your five-page total. In your page number settings, set the page numbering to begin at zero. Page zero will be your intro.
