Local legislation/policy/legal case applicable to sexuality topic (800 words minimum):

1. Locate a piece of local or state legislation that is applicable to a sexuality topic (patient confidentiality court case, policies in employee handbooks, health insurance policies, school policies, intimate partner violence, etc.). Here is one resource that may be useful: https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/home.xhtml.
2. Analyze the legislation/policy, and include the following (total of 800 words):

1. Explanation – What is the legislation/policy you are analyzing? What is this legislation trying to advance?
2. Significance – Why is this important to address? Who is impacted?
3. Definitions – Discuss any relevant terms and their definitions and include citations (ex: “to determine if an action can be legally defined as ‘battery,’ the criteria of force, direct application, and intent must be established.”)
4. Analysis – Are the policies explicit (clear definitions) or implicit (meaning is obtained from interpreting the text itself)? Does the text give the public enough information? How practical is this? A SWOT analysis may be useful to help you analyze the policy.
