Cover Letter 1st draft

The cover letter should be geared toward a position you are seeking, one that you may have an interest in, or one with your current employer. Please do not use your current job. Current employer is fine as long as it is not the position you hold.

For those individuals who may hold current positions and are involved in the hiring process within the organization, think about what exactly you are looking for in the cover letter.

For those seeking to gain the attention of potential employers, The Cover Letter can be a challenging task for many. Getting started and understanding what to submit are often difficult things to comprehend. Please use the resources available on Blackboard within the ‘Cover Letter Example–Career Network’ tab. Also see advice from former Ohio Unviversity and Restaurant, Hotel & Tourism graduate Caroline Hollatz within the ‘Caroline Hollatz Cover Letter Presentation’ tab. In addition, research on your own. There is a great deal of information available on the Internet pertaining to Cover Letters. Also, keep in mind that the Rufus Bobcat example that has been posted on Blackboard is a basic, generic example. It is something to build off. Please do not turn an example which replicates Rufus’ document to me. Each individual in this course has way more to offer.

I strongly recommend that the cover letter is 3-4 well-structured paragraphs.
