Course book we are using is: Operations Management by Heizer publlished by pearson. I have attached summaries from the chapters I am assigned to work on for this paper.

Objective of the project:

Highlights: Analysis of a company along the OM dimensions learned in the class with concrete and specific details.

Chapter 7 and Supplement 7: Process Strategy and Capacity

  • • List and describe company’s production and service processes
  • • Analyze production processes using volume-variety matrix (process strategy for physical goods)
  • • Analyze service processes using Degree of labor Vs. Degree of customization (service process strategy)

Chapter 11 and Chapter 12: Supply Chain and Inventory

  • • List and describe company’s supply chain for physical goods
  • • List and describe company’s supply chain for services

  • • List all the references that you have used in the descriptive analysis of the company
  • Final Report Format The final report should have the following format:
    • • MS Word file, at least 7 pages long without appendices,
    • • Single space, font is 12 Times New Roman, and page margin is 1” for all sides.
    • • No long paragraphs; rather use tables, diagrams and bulletized writeup.
      • Concrete/specific details rather than vague/generic statements and long paragraphs
      • • Report format and neatness
      • • Provides basis of analysis including references, secondary data source etc. (I will be checking the details using Turnitin)
