Letter To A Policy Maker

You will write a professional letter and address it to a policy maker of your choice that you have identified as being a significant stakeholder in your policy. This letter will draw upon the information you researched in your policy brief, but it must be condensed to a minimum of 2 pages, and a maximum of 3 pages. Below or above this range will result in a loss of points. The included template below provides a section at the beginning of the latter for addressing. This section is included in the page count. Your job in this assignment is to consolidate while still getting your message across.

Use the Letter to a Policy Maker Template to help structure the assignment.

You must choose the salient points from your research to explain the following:

  1. Describe the policy your writing about and how you are effected by it
  2. What you believe are the major issues with the policy
  3. What change would you like to see implemented
  4. What are the major arguments against what you are proposing, and why are those arguments incorrect
  5. A brief, one paragraph conclusion, summarizing your argument, and the change you would like to see take place.

This assignment will test your ability to consolidate information into a condensed version of the facts. You must still cite all information relevant to your argument, and include a reference list (not included in page count). You cannot simply copy and paste your previous work, you must re-write and re-phrase information to make it concise. Copying large sections of previous text will result in grade decrease as it is considered plagiarism.

Utilize the feedback that is given in previous assignment to look for additional information that may be relevant to your argument.

you will use SINGLE LINE SPACING, 11 pt. Arial font.
