- Once you have received approval for your topics, use an LLM (eg. ChatGPT) to draft an outline of your essay. This will be worth 25 points from the paper grade and will be due by the end of module 7. (This is a separate submission from the actual paper.
- Submit your prompt(s) and the resulting outline. You may need to refine your prompt and/or write follow-up prompts to achieve a reasonable flow of ideas with supporting details. You may find it easier to create an outline for each section of your paper. You will need to make sure that the paper is cohesive (this means that it is internally consistent and ideas in one section support ideas in other sections) Keep this in mind when writing prompts.
- You will need to annotate and submit the final outline.
- Use the outline to help you organize your thoughts and explore ideas. Make note of your thinking process on the outline.
- As well, identify information in the outline that you intend to use as factual evidence in supporting your topic (remember ChatGPT is not programmed to provide correct answers – so you will need to check the response you receive against information from class and other scholarly sources). You will need to find a scholarly source to support your claims.
- Use at least 5 current (within 5 years) credible sources should be used with textual evidence cited and bibliography provided.
- The paper should be 5-8 pages long.
